Shipping

At HomeGrid Generator, we offer fast and free shipping on most products within the contiguous United States. For orders requiring freight shipping, an additional charge may apply for residential delivery—this will be clearly noted on each product listing. Shipping to a freight terminal or commercial business address is typically free of charge.

Please be aware that deliveries to remote or hard-to-access locations may incur additional fees. If applicable, any such charges will be discussed with you prior to shipping.

Note: Residential freight deliveries are curbside only.

Freight Delivery Inspection Policy

All items shipped via freight must be inspected upon arrival before accepting delivery. If you notice any visible damage to the product, you should refuse the delivery. For freight shipments, any damage to the packaging should be clearly noted on the driver’s copy of the Bill of Lading.

For items delivered via ground shipping (e.g., UPS, FedEx), packages should be opened and inspected immediately upon receipt. Filing claims for concealed damage is often challenging, so prompt inspection is crucial.

If damage or missing items are not documented at the time of delivery or on the Bill of Lading, we are unable to file a claim or offer a return/refund.

Please note:

  • If a shipment is refused and returned without clear evidence of damage to the item itself, return shipping and restocking fees may apply.

  • For ground-shipped items, any damage must be reported to HomeGrid Generator within 14 days of delivery. Reports made after this period will not be eligible for return, refund, or compensation.

If your order arrives with missing parts or accessories, please contact us at support@homegridgenerator.com. We will work directly with the manufacturer to ensure that any missing components are shipped to you as soon as possible.

Please do not purchase replacement parts locally or request reimbursement unless you have received prior approval from the manufacturer. Unauthorized purchases may not be eligible for compensation.

Please refer to individual product pages for lead and processing times, which indicate how soon your item will ship. All timeframes are listed in business days.

For FedEx/UPS Ground shipments, orders typically arrive within 3–5 business days after dispatch. However, please note that delays may occur, and all timelines are estimates—HomeGrid Generator is not responsible for any delays caused by the shipping carrier.

Freight deliveries may take longer, depending on the shipment’s origin and the distance to your location. As with standard shipping, delays are possible, and all delivery estimates are approximate.

If a shipment is refused or undeliverable, the customer will be responsible for all related shipping costs, as well as any applicable restocking fees.

All address change requests must be made by the original purchaser and must be submitted via phone for verification.

Please note:

  • Once an order has been processed, changing the shipping address may incur additional fees. We will review each request on a case-by-case basis and inform you of any extra charges as soon as possible.

  • If a shipment is refused or marked as undeliverable due to an address issue, the customer will be responsible for return shipping costs and any applicable restocking fees.

  • Changes to the shipping address after the order is placed may also affect sales tax calculations, if applicable.

Orders may be cancelled at no charge any time before they ship.

If you wish to cancel an order, please call us during business hours as soon as possible. Cancellations must be made over the phone to ensure we can intercept the order before it ships. Requests made through voicemail, email, or our answering service cannot be processed as cancellations.

Please note:

  • If the order has already shipped—even if a tracking number hasn’t been uploaded yet—it may still be in transit.

  • If a shipped order needs to be recalled, you will be responsible for both outbound and return shipping costs.

Returns

Due to the nature of certain products, returns are not accepted for the following item categories:

  • Generators
  • Pressure washers
  • Small engine equipment
  • Medical products (including mobility scooters)
  • Built-to-order items
  • Any products shipped via freight

Please note:

  • Some product listings may include specific return policies that override this general policy.
  • Products shipped directly by the manufacturer may be subject to different return terms and fees.
  • In the event of a defect or issue, these items must be serviced locally under warranty—returns will not be accepted under this section.

Requests for extended warranty refunds made after an item has shipped and within 30 days of the original purchase will be subject to a 3% processing fee. Any refund requests for extended warranties beyond the 30-day window will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis, and approval is not guaranteed.

If an item arrives and is not working, reasonable troubleshooting steps must be completed with the manufacturer to determine whether the item is defective. If the item is confirmed to be defective, the manufacturer will provide a resolution, which may include repair, replacement, or refund depending on their policy.

If the item is found to be in working condition, and is new, unused, and unopened, the buyer may still return it but will be responsible for the original shipping costs—including the cost incurred by HomeGrid Generator to send the item initially—and a restocking fee starting at 20%. Opened or used items are not eligible for return under any circumstances.

Refunds will be issued directly to the credit card used to place the original order. Once a Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) has been approved, the item must be shipped back within 10 business days to the return address provided. Returns cannot be accepted after 30 days from the delivery date; any issues beyond this period must be addressed directly with the manufacturer.

If you or your business is tax-exempt, please contact our customer service team via phone or email before placing your order. We will require a valid copy of your tax exemption certificate in advance to process your purchase without sales tax.

If taxes are collected at checkout and a refund is later requested, a 3% processing fee will be deducted from the refund amount. To avoid this fee, please ensure that your tax-exempt status is verified prior to completing your order.

Warranty

When you purchase from HomeGrid Generator, your order is protected by the manufacturer’s warranty. As an authorized dealer for every product we sell, you can shop with confidence knowing your purchase is backed by official warranty coverage. For specific warranty details, please refer to the product listing of the model you are interested in, as terms may vary by manufacturer.

Whenever a restocking fee applies, it is based on the specific requirements of the product’s manufacturer. Restocking fees can vary depending on the brand and item. If you have any questions or would like to confirm the restocking fee for a particular product, please don’t hesitate to contact us directly. We’re happy to provide clarification before you make your purchase.
